Emerging Artist Spotlight: Interview With Tyrone

By Faith Richardson

Rap artist Tyrone is only 15, but he is proving he is one to watch in the music industry . Although he only has a couple of songs, they tend to blow up, thanks to a healthy cult following. His latest single, “Bloodrayne,” has over 10K views on YouTube. He recently took a few minutes to answer some questions for Sonic Sound. Here are the goods:

What made you start creating music?

Music is fun!

How has music influenced you?

Music helps people understand me a bit better without face to face conversation.

Who are some of the artists that have shaped your sound?

Some artists who I love are City Morgue, Zillakami, Jackson 5, Billie Eilish Scarlxrd, Joji, Clairo The Weeknd (I like weird musik)

Besides music, what are some of your other interests?

Some hobbies are Surfing (NO ONE CAN SURF BETTER THAN ME) exploring and just having fun with friends 🙂

What has been the most surprising thing about being in the music business?

The industry is cutthroat! There’s a lot of evil people and its really devastating.

Where do you hope to see your music career in the future?

I want my career to be meaningful with artistry behind the work I put out, but over everything, I just want to connect with people and enjoy myself while doing it.

Anything else you would like us to know?

I know you didn’t ask but I think that its important to state how I’m a 15 year old kid, New York born and raised, music never has been my main focus cause the main focus is me as a person! I only have one song and one snippet out at the moment. I’ve always been crazy childish, and a weirdo, so that all carried on to my image. I’m really happy my music, modeling, and other antics somehow garnered a cult following online. I’ve had some management problems but I’m well on my way up! And finally, just know that I’m really not like anyone else.
