Kiss’ “End of the Road” Tour Explodes at the NYCB Live Nassau Coliseum

Kiss knows how to throw a party! And, everyone is invited, old and young. The pyrotechnics and theatrics lit up Nassau Coliseum on March 22nd, beginning with the band descending from the ceiling on individual risers while playing the rock anthem “Detroit Rock City” .

Paul Stanley was the ring master of the rock and roll circus that ensued, engaging the crowd in-between-song banter and dancing around the in those insanely high platform boots.

Dressed in their original makeup and costumes, Kiss played loud and hard with hits like “I Love it Loud” and “Lick It Up”. The crowd enjoyed Gene Simmons’ signature fire breathing during “War Machine” and blood-spewing bass solo on “God of Thunder”.  After coaxing the audience to call out his name, Paul Stanley took to the air, and flew above the crowd on a zip line, landing in the middle of the arena to sing “Love Gun” and “I Was Made for Loving You”.

The finale was over the top, in true Kiss fashion, as the band played “Rock and Roll All Nite”. Gene Simmons and Tommy Thayer floated above the crowd with crane-powered platforms as lasers, pyrotechnics, balloons, and a mountain of confetti swirled all over the arena.

It is truly the end of an era, as Kiss continues on with their “Final Tour Ever” shows. Rock bands of today, though try as they might, may never reach the theatrics and showmanship of Kiss. This band makes every penny (or $500) spent on a ticket well worth it.

Kiss has a few more “Final Tour Ever” dates in the U.S. before heading overseas. You can find out more tour information on their official site,
